How old is he?
Is he being exercised enough, are you leaving him alone too long, how old is he?
He's bored! Leave him with a variety of toys and challenges

Leave a radio on?
sounds like separation anxiety to me. How old is he? how long do you leave him? Are there things that might worry him like outside noise or people passing close to the house? DO NOT leave him alone with a muzzle on its not safe.
Poor little thing. What are you doing to him?
Some dog chews or denta sticks might help.
Sounds like an unhappy dog, How about only leaving him for short periods and a Kong stuffed with something nice to keep him happy while you're out.
It would be helpful to get some answers to the questions others have asked please smarty.
My staffy has never ruined her cage. She has slept in it when it has suited her and she has had access to the rest of the house when she felt free to do so. I am concerned that you are caging your little dog to suit you rather than than the dog.
Definitely something wrong. How long is he being caged? Leave the radio on. Is there a cat or another dog around so he does not feel isolated? How old is he? All sorts of questions.

He is insecure and anxious is the bottom line. You need to consider his needs. I've never owned a Staffie, but have had dogs life-long. If he's broken a cage then he is desperate about something. When you are around you could try caging him and watching from a hidden place. Good luck and love him.
jourdain dogs aren't stupid and he will know, also if he gets distressed in the cage that's not very kind.
