Cool here, but not cold, in the Venice of the Midlands. Last day of Cruft's today and it's F Puli, Lankeela, Jules and thugulike day; the really important breeds and breeders are out. Starts 8.15am finishes about 9pm, with Best in Show ; a long day.

Best in Show? My bet is the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen; yes, I know, we all have one of those but, in fact, the breed is becoming a bit fashionable; Champion Soletrader Peek-a-Boo, a bitch. If you think her name is bad, you should know that her sire is registered as Capuccino Tum Tums and her dam is Soletrader My Aphrodisiac.

Woken by Junior Dog who wanted a quick visit to the garden. Seems to be gently snowing out there right now ...

Morning Nm xxx weecalf, Dave and beej. I agree with that mate. I missed the last quarter, we were ahead then, I'm not surprised at the draw. Our lot went to sleep in the second half again. We should have won by a wide margin.

Yes, beejay, Cruft's is on Channel 4 from 5.30 pm tonight. Clare Balding presents highlights of the last day , followed by live coverage of the Friends for Life award (rather schmaltzy, though worthy, recognition of dogs helping owners with difficulties) at 7.10 and the Best in Show at 7.30.

Morning all - grey and the wind is getting up, an easterly me thinks by the way the trees are blowing - that's the end of the magnolia blossom (a nigh on 30ft tree of the stuff).

Happy Mum's Day to any mothers out there on AB and hope that you get spoiled today. Pub lunch lined up here and a range of plants from the family as the mater still likes pottering in the garden, though not much gets done and the equipment is strewn all over the place.

Good morning all, pooring with rain here. I don't follow crufts but did watch friends with their Wolfhounds and they done extremely well, we may watch a bit later but we have friends coming around and I'm still converting big shed into rabbit accomodation.
