they are busy busy dogs, bred to be very active and on the move, not your general pooch http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Border_Terrier

It sounds as if he might be awaiting your instructions!
|
|
He wants to be out and about. He's waiting for you to move and take him out .
|
|
You might try giving him some of his food in a kong or puzzle toy.

Is he getting enough exercise and mental stimulation tilly?
As others have suggested it sounds as if he wants you interact with him. There are lots of games that you can do in your own home that he might enjoy. One that my dogs like is when I put them outside the room and tell them to wait. Then I hide tiny treats in various places around the room and when I tell them to come in they love sniffing their way around the room to find the treats. They absolutely love it, it works their wee terrier noses and it tires them out too. |

Giving him cold meat is spoiling him?? lol How about the concept of real meat being real dog food! |

As for the OP's Border terrier, I would suggest your dog is bored.
|
|
lol ratter!

Not just cold meat means spoiling him-
More like he strolls in and demands food and treats which he usually gets- hes a spoiled little boy. Hes currently in bed with me. Wouldnt have it any other way. He gets real meat aswell- but not all the time. Im aware you feed your dog human grade meat- try to watch what he eats...his skin aggrivates and some stuff runs through him. So yeah. He is massively spoiled x |

Shivvy, >>>They absolutely love it, it works their wee terrier noses and it tires them out too.<<<
I would hunt all day with my terriers when they got home they would sit and look at me accusingly as if to say, where are we going now!! I thought the only way to tire a terrier was a general anaesthetic. lol |

Quite right ratter, I should have said that it tires them 'a bit' !
I reckon even when terriers are asleep they keep one ear and one eye open for the slightest sign of a possibility of getting out for a run, hunt, tug, fun etc. It does sound as if tillys border terrier is bored though doesn't it? That said, when my 2 are bored and looking for sport they don't sit nicely just staring at us - they are more likely to get up to a bit of mischief to get our attention! |
