There is an ultrasonic box that can be used for cats, try taking a look at that.

Awww...my.taid - they're fascinating little creatures, and if you're lucky enough to see them carrying their babies from tree to tree, it's worth keeping watch. A lot of people don't like them because they can raid birds nests and cause "damage" to trees, but we have lots of them scampering about, and they get used to you, just as you get used to them.

You can get a squirrel trap from any garden store, catch them live, drown them or shoot them in the head with an air weapon. They make good eating.

Have you contacted the local council? They may be able to help with their pest control officer.

Whatever you do, don't mix nuts with rat poison - the wild birds will take it and they'll die (including all the babies who are just fledging now!) Shoot the ruddy squirrels and let the birds live in peace!

If you trap or shoot them and don't do anything else, more will move into the area if there is a suitable environment. Talk to your neighbour about the sheds and find out where they live if you can make the environment less attractive then the numbers will diminish but you won't get rid of them entirely. You can stop up entrance holes in your own shed/garage and fit electronic deterrrents as well

Their name is mud up here in the Lake Disrict, as they are pushing out the red squirrels. If you look, I'm sure you'll be able to find some recipes for the greys.......

If you use a trap to catch grey squirrels be aware that you need a trap that kills them outright, it's illegal to re-release them because they aren't native to Britain. There are strict guidelines on killing them, drowning is not considered ok. Poisoning is even more strictly controlled to prevent accidental poisoning of pets & wildlife. If you cannot face dealing with the bodies then employ a proper pest control firm who know about setting the traps safely - you don't want to be responsible for killing someone's pet cat! & they will dispose of the remains as well. You also need to check your household insurance. SAGA categorise grey squirrels as vermin & will cover damage to your property provided you take measures to prevent further damage by reducing the population. Other companies will exclude squirrel damage from cover.
Yes, initially the surrounding populations will move in on the newly 'vacated' areas, but if you keep up the trapping you will get control. They only move into our property when all the natural places are full.

You're allowed to shoot them aren't you? Don't they come under acceptable quarry with an air pistol? Great fun on a Summers evening. You could have a bar-bee with what you get.

Yes, you can legally shoot them with an air rifle.

Two of my neighbours used to shoot them, another trapped and drowned them.

They caused dreadful damage in the lofts of four houses of my neighbours.
