End of the world in 4 years?
Everyone at school has been saying that in 4 years 2 stars are going 2 colide and cause the world to change and possibly kill us all... I think this is a complete rumour but can someone please tell me what they know....

Not heard this one but as I said in an earlier posting on this subject the first time I heard a similar rumour was when I was in school back in the early 60s' and since then the rumour comes round every couple of years or when a comet,eclipse or something of that sort comes round. I suppose the rumour will be right one day but I wouldn't worry about it.

According to the mayan calander, it will be 2012, but it will be just before Christmas day, so don't bother buying prezzies.

As the nearest star to us is 4.2 light years away, any collision that would affect us in four years time would have to happen now. (bearing in mind any debris or "shockwave" would have to be travelling at the speed of light to get here in that time). So unless there is some massive global governmental conspiracy hiding the truth I will still be planning to have my 47th birthday in 2013.
