I am not sure if it is legal, but I have heard of people blocking all mole holes nearby, then connecting a hosepipe or something similar to a car exhaust pipe, starting the car and keeping it running for a while. It kills them.
If that is what they would like to do, check if it is legal first.

By sticking the other end of the pipe into the open mole hole.

This is going to sound odd, but it works. Get some children's windmills on sticks - you know the sort you buy at the seaside - and just poke the sticks in the mole hills, so that the breeze can catch the little sails. The moles don't like the vibration and will soon seek greener pastures.

Mothballs down the holes is said to work

My son-in-law had some near his caravan, simple answer.....empty plastic pop bottle upside down with a cane in the ground the bottle vibrates when the wind hits it....no more moles.. they move to other places.

garner, good idea. Obviously the same principle as the windmills - only cheaper.

Ah, this takes me back to the classic Jasper Carrott sketch about moles.
"You gotta shove garlic and mothballs down the 'ole, they don' like the smell!"
"Ours did, ate the bloomin lot!"
"I had hundreds of little plastic windmills all over the garden. First gust of wind, boom, blew the fence down"

Milk bottles in the holes, open end up, they can't stand the sound the wind makes in them.

moles tend to come and go in a garden, once they have eaten the worms they move on..they aren't infectious, dangerous or anything really except the hills look messy so why not just let be?
