How old could a TV commercial (ad) be?

Have you heard this delightful jingle?

Washing machines live longer with Calgon

Well, every time I hear this I go back to when I first went to live in America 48 years ago!

It is the exact ad, same voices etc, and I don`t know how long it had been around at that time either.
