i now have 3 yrs ncd from zenith , despite 3 emails they have not given me proof of this 3 yrs ncd.

i am now with another insurance company and i want to transfer the 3 years to my new policy. how to do this.

also zenoth my previous insurer have today asked me to make payment for renewal even though i have told them 4 times via email that i dont want renew with them, they say they tried to take full payment of £490 from my bank , and failure to outstanding with result in some kind of debt recovery etc

I doubt you will get proof of your NCD whilst you have an outstanding bill with Zenith.

If you have proof that you cancelled you contract with Zenith within the proper timescales you need to provide this to clear the outstanding bill so that they will give you proof.

Without this proof your current insurers may cease to insure you.
£490 that's expensive DD???? what are you insuring & have you searched around? if you can not get a response from Zenith, advise them that you are contacting the Insurance Ombudsman 0800 023 4567 8AM 8PM Emailcomplaint.info@financial- that will move their ars.
I am not sure whether they will accept cancellation by email- perhaps because you are sending to an unmanned outgoing mail box or they cannot be certain of your identity.
Phone them up and speak to them. Or write and send by the signed-for delivery.
Normally proof of NCD is simply the renewal invitation/notice. If they didn't email or post this to you then maybe there is an online portal where you can log in to access all your policy details, correspondence etc
If they excepted by email, they should except cancel by email.
They won't have accepted by email. You always apply online via secure site rather than by email and they will do appropriate identity checks before accepting the policy.
The £490 sounds not too bad as I assume it is before any NCD (as that has yet to be confirmed). There may be cheaper ones but i think it would make things far worse if he were to cancel the new one and switch again
Sorry TWR- just realised the £490 price was from last year's insurer Zenith so they will have used the right NCD. But as Dieseldick has switched insurer I assume he had shopped around and will be paying less than he £490 once his NCD is sorted.
The key things when dealing with insurance company problems are, keep calm, have all of your information to hand and most importantly, follow their procedures.
Failure to do any of these may result in problems and costs that no amount of internet forum use can solve.
I would not suggest dieseldick contact the Insurance Ombudsman, not with him having committed fraud to elicit the 3rd year of NCD (having sold the car a month before and not telling his insurer).

In your post of the 2nd Dec you say you did not tell Zenith you were not renewing with them but let the policy run on to get your 3 year NCD.
So you do not legally have 3 years NCD. You started the new policy when you were still insured with Zenith! You should have changed Zenith to the new car for the last month and then told them not to renew.
Does that mean they've insured a car you no longer own? Is the new owner driving on your insurance?

i sold my previous car and bought a bigger car in oct 2016 , my renew date was 1st dec 2016. i got the new car insured with hastings and it was cheaper thn what zenith came up with online ( gocompare & comparethemarket ) so i was on phone to hastings they advise me to take out their policy and let my old zenith policy run to get my 3 yrs ncd which i did. now zenith demanding money.

also, zenith renew my policy without even calling me or discussing a renewal price ? i took it that when you dont phone a company and renew with them then the said company will not give you insurance, isnt that logical ?

put it this way , if i did not renew and still had my old car and was still driving it around and i thought that the policy would be automatically renewed on 2nd dec 2016 if on the 3rd dec and police stopped me i would be well and truly shafted !! wouldnt i ?
More and more Car Insurers are taking the Auto Renewal route, looks like yours was one.

From Zenith's website, "Your renewal invitation will explain whether you need to take any action to renew your cover as this will depend whether your policy:

was set up to automatically renew, in which case you don’t need to take any action.
requires you to accept our renewal terms which can be done by calling the Renewal Helpline."

You'll need to have a look at the renewal letter to see whether the onus was on you to cancel or no.

well if i didnt press the renewal option then obviously this means, i do not want to renew , simple
You need to see whether Zenith accepts that. Have you spoken to them - it's only a week after the autorenewal date so they may still accept the non-renewal
