I've just started to watch this years series on catch up ( so don't tell me who's left or won so far please lol) and today saw episode one with Adam Handling as one of the Scottish chefs.

He's just opened a restaurant in London called The Frog, and was in the papers last week for his very poor respond to poor reviews on Tripadvisor.
One customer complained about chaotic service and average food, to which Adam replied ......."you are the prime example of an imbecile .......you're just stupid as the beetroot isn't just beetroot with sugar on.........please never come back stick to McDonalds..."

Well that wasn't very professional was it!

And it's not the first bad reply he's left. I know chefs don't like criticism and the customer isn't always right but God how rude!!
and then he contacted the reviewer personally ...

I never heard of him before-it wasn't very professional
I have thought he was great ever since he was on Masterchef, he's young and competitive and clearly a bit hot headed. Should go far.
please never come back stick to McDonalds..."

By the sound of this Adam Handling character and his new restaurant then the customer probably would get better service and food at McDonalds.
reading my link, I think I'd prefer McDonalds, seems beetroot is the main dish of the day
At least he's apologised, he's young and passionate and has some growing up to do.

I know he did eanceoil but he didn't have much choice did he as he made himself look like a spoilt brat.
And yes his food tonight looked very good.
does he serve sawdust and floor scrapings as they once did in the Kensington branch....?
he didn't have much choice, I remember years gone by, a local restaurant had on the menu, if you liked our food tell others, if there was a problem tell us, it's all internet now. Small town word of mouth could have ruined a business, I suppose this is the same in larger scale
Question Author
Oh I agree but that's the trouble with online reviews - people can write whatever they like!
He should keep to the cooking, let someone else handle complaints
I base a lot of my decisions on where to stay/eat not by the reviews but the owners/managers response to them.
