I won't claim to be that interested since I do not live there, but if the people are daft enough to vote Ken and Boris in, why not Sol ?
//I come from a working-class background, it wasn't easy for me at all, but I worked hard. And now it's about giving something back//

Does he mean he played hard and got paid a lot of money for kicking a ball.
Hardly credentials for a mayor that would get my vote.
Actually I think both Ken and Boris have done well as Mayor. From different perspectives obviously but both are politicians who know how the System works.

Much as Sol's heart is in the right place I think he would get trampled on by those around him. Having said that, Film stars have even made it to the most powerful job in the world !

Sounds reasonable to me - what's so hysterically funny about it ?

Quite true.Charlie Chaplin became The Dictator. :-)
Nice to hear Ymb praising Ken because I in turn also happen to think Boris has been a good mayor
The job is maybe suited to an idealistic maverick style politico - not so sure Sol Campbell would be my first choice but I would pick him before George Galloway

"Much as Sol's heart is in the right place"

unlike his brain....
I would vote for Whittington's cat before Galloway.
but he IS whittington's cat, retrocop - didn't you see him lick rula lenska a few years back?
/// Despite admitting he doesn't see himself as a hot favourite, the towering 40-year-old has vowed that a vote for him would 'bring something new to the table' ///

Ah yes "the first black Mayor of London".

Now that's new.

But wait a minute,

I certainly don't think any Spurs fans would be voting for him, nor any other London based football fan who hates Arsenal. Perhaps why he's a 100/1 outsider with the bookies.

Another deluded idiot..and thats being kind

strange how he only got "involved" in politics when he though he might have to start paying a mansion tax....on his £25million mansion !
