…being used for the recent One Man and His Dog segment on Countryfile?
There are no lyrics so I can't Google this one for myself.

The Beeb have used this music before, as the theme tune for Stargazing Live or, if my memory is playing tricks on me, it would have been "Science Club" which also had Dara O'Briain and Prof. Brian Cox as presenters.

No answer yet, so -bump- and on to week two.

Is it this episode?

Question Author
Hi Wolf

Dunno if you posted a link there? I'm seeing just blank space. :-/

Take last week as an example plus the preamble about the contest from the week before that.

Question Author
I rewatched the 28th Sep edition and the music I referred to was not used. It was the two episodes prior to that when there was just a five minute blurb to tell us that OMAHD was coming soon.

I'm only enquiring because they use this music in all sorts of programmes and I still have no clue what band it is.

Thanks for finding that, Wolf63.

So, Norfolk episode, first appearance is from 23:00 to 23:35.

It's a distinctive sound and I'll probably kick myself for not recognising it from the style.

Forgot to add I was reminded of it recently because they(BBC) used it when showing highlights of the Olympic torch coverage from around Great Britain.

Thanks Chilldoubt.

At first, I was still in the dark about title/artist because the vid had no border but it shows up once it has played through. As it turned out, it's not a famous name band. I may have come across his name once before, while looking for a semi-orchestral piece, used on Top Gear.

Question Author
The Top Gear one I referred to was actually this cheerful little ditty… At least it was, when it was just an instrumental…

Remember the olden days, the dark days before the internet? If we were back there you would have gone to your grave not knowing the details of the tune.

:-)
Or you would have heard it on radio 2, like I recently did for a tune that's been bugging me for years.
Honestly, if I wasn't at work at the time I'd have cried.
Question Author
I know, Wolfie. What would I do without you, eh? ;-)

@FrogNog

I post these threads precisely because I don't have time to listen to the Radio in the off-chance that a track whose name I want to know will crop up.

Even if it did, I have selective attention. Do you ever get that thing where the tail end of a news ticker story catches your eye but the who/what has already scrolled off the screen? They've improved it lately, it used to be up to 30 minutes to repeat the story of interest. Slow torture!

Same with radio: if it's named before it's played and is an artist I don't know, I won't attempt to memorise it. If I then like the song and the DJ doesn't recap, then I'm left in the dark.

Still no Best Answer vote for me. *sigh*...........
Question Author
Sorry, Chill, thought I'd clicked that. Kudos to wolf63 for finding the Countryfile episodes, I imagined they'd be sought and destroyed by the Beeb. ;-)

That's ok Hypo, my post was very tongue-in-cheek because the Badges system is something of a joke to many, including me.
