Gmail has been in beta since 2004, maybe earlier, and that's Google, for heaven's sake. When will they know?

Yes, the conclusion is that the BETA failed to measure up. All calls to restore it to the proper site fall on deaf ears.

and also to be noted is the fact that the beta on the main site was very short lived.
