Dated posts

I notice that some groups have several thousand posts. Surely it is not necessary and wastes space. Many old postings could reaonsably be removed.

This is an AnswerBANK. The posts are meant to be kept.

If anybody puts relevant words in their search engine such as google, there may be a very old post from AnswerBank in the search results. :)

I would have thought there might be a case for removing answers from the Daily Sketch crosswords of 1953, for all that, Ethel.

Noooo - I happened to find that particular answer fascinating.

what, 'Quadruped named Rover that barks' (3)? Well, you could always ask it again; there seems to be no limit to how often a single clue gets posted.

Anyway, some of us sentimental old fools like to occasionally look back at stuff we posted years ago. Earlier this week I found myself looking at a question I posted nearly 3 years ago and realised that I'd never said 'thankyou' to someone for a wonderfully helpful link.

Er, sorry about that, jno! ;-)

My favourite cryptic clue because it is really very bad:

Snapper cracker (3,7)

Hi nono, how's it hanging?

BTW, who are you calling a weirdo?

Hey nono, there's only one person who bites chappie, and that's mr.chappie! lol

Hello, Mrs C.

I'd be prepared to bet that NK's comment is aimed at me. He's been following me around AB tonight, making totally unhelpful posts in most sections. (NormanTheDog used to do that. I wonder if they're related?). I'll leave you to work out who the real weirdo is.

Hi Chris, how are you tonight buddy?

I would think it would take a lot to upset nono, he's usually a joker. Whatcha been up to?

It takes a lot to upset me as well, Mrs C. I might groan when I see a post from NK but he doesn't succeed in annoying me.

What have I been doing? S0d all! It's been very quiet here today. I didn't even go out of the house until late evening (to get some beer). However, I've got a meeting (work) tomorrow morning and I'm planning an afternoon out in London after that.

How about you?

I've had a fairly busy day doing housewifely duties Chris. Done a bit of shopping, no cooking 'cos I prepared today's lunch yesterday, washing and ironing, cleaned out the parrots - all riveting stuff!

Just been watching a horrible prog about skinning animals for fur - did you see it?

NK: Not for the first time, you seem determined to insult me in code. Perhaps you'd care to post a translation guide, so that I can work out what the hell you're on about ;-)

Mrs C:
I should warn you that my mind tends towards 'literalism'. If you post "I cleaned out the parrots' cages . . .", I know exactly what you mean. On the other hand, if you write "I cleaned out the parrots . . ." it suggests that you're into something very odd ;-)

No, I didn't see that TV programme. I watch very little TV. I'm more a fan of radio (especially BBC7).

Thanks for that, Jno. My brain can be very slow at times ;-)

I'm glad that someone has worked out Ethel's cryptic clue. My brain wasn't up to it!

NK: So why do you 'look down your nose' at people who haven't got regular employment? I try to judge people by far more important criteria. (Incidentally, if you'd read my post, you'd have seen that I've got a work-related meeting tomorrow. No, it's not a visit to the dole office. It's a meeting with the area manager for a job that I'm supervising).

Ah, but Chris, what if I didn't clean the cages? The parrots could be on stands couldn't they? And I only cleaned their stands today .......

chappie is now feeling guilty - she should've cleaned the cages as well, she's a lazy ******!

PS: Nono, that clip's hilarious!!!!

Have a look at it Chris, then tell us if it made you laugh!
