No question - its just so refreshing to see that three unsavoury characters (or are they one of the same) have had their (his/her) inappropriate questions and inappropriate replies (to other users) deleted in record time from various sections!!

It's a breath of fresh air for all genuine users!!

I mailed the ED yesterday asking if they were ever going to implement the permanent banning of what is probably about 2 or 3 people that create these user names and create havoc around the site (banning by MAC address) and am yet to receive any response.

Hi LL - i always try to be optimistic and I know that some of the answers to your swallow's thread were revolting and should have been wiped off without a doubt. Hopefully now they will be deleted sooner rather than later.

The ed and team seem to be cleaning up the site now (particularly over the last few days) where quite a few undesirable questions and answers have been deleted. I have noticed quite a difference and it is so pleasant to open up a post where someone has a genuine question and not have to read the smutty answers etc that have been posted of late, particularly in A&N. Humour is great - but not the sort of stuff we have been subjected to - particularly over the last month or so. I know how you feel - I too have been on the receiving end one way or another!

Hopefully too emails will be answered in due course and we can all look forward to a great site, suitable for all genuine users and not marred by a minority. :o)

I apologise Newsdesk if you misunderstood me.

This is a family site - I am only talking about the minority who spoil it for genuine users and they have been dealt with by the ed etc. I am not the only user to have been upset by some of the questions, comments etc posted by a certain few.

Newsdesk (Abdul/Minter) no need to be rude to Alfieblue. It might be banal to you but we harm noone over in A&N and generally keep ourselves to ourselves and Alfieblue has a lot to offer this site for a good many of us. Why was your comment necessary on this thread?

LoftyLottie, I dont consider my comments on alfieblue's views in any way rude. I get the impression that he/she may be on some sort of moral crusade and has already taken to the high ground.

It reminds me of the constant attacks on C4, for daring to be different. Answerbank caters for most tastes, but again we see a minority on here trying to act like the thought police.

I am Newsdesk, that's what it says on the tin!

Well! You carry on - because to be quite honest I have really had enough. All I wanted was to enjoy the sections and the banter and the friendship. And yes, I get upset when a few people make a mockery of perfectly logical questions etc.

Well you carry on with your crusade, because I am logging off and very much doubt that I will be back because of you and the likes of you. Are you happy now?

Whiffey, I agree that I might be wrong about Newsdesk.
Newsdesk, I apologise if you are not Minter. However, some of your postings led me to this conclusion.

However, I think the posting was rude. All alfieblue has said that it is good to be able to get rid of the very inappropriate and unnecessary replies that have been all over this site lately, in threads that are genuine (even if banal!)

Yes, it's great that this site caters for all tastes and we can keep away from the postings we don't like. Alfie, like a lot of us keeps away from areas of the site or threads he/she finds offensive and doesn't comment.

Is it too much to expect that people keep their abusive and smutty comments away from inoffensive threads rather than ruining them for others. There are plenty of areas on here that they can play in together happily without causing problems.

I hope Alfieblue comes back. I for one love chatting with her on the A&N topic.
