Dear All,

I hope you are all having a good day today, I certainly am.

I only have a couple of things to mention and ask you about really.

Firstly: How do you think the site is going? Has it improved since September? What are your current thoughts on editorial policy regarding the Weekend Ed and the Late Ed?

We thought it might be a good time to open a dialogue with you all again regarding the site and the changes which have happened so far. We've recently tidied up the topics [+] and the [Refresh] button as well as adding a whole number of editors tools.

Secondly: JoggerJayne wrote an interesting answer the other week which I thought should not be
resigned to shuffling off the page like all the other answers:

Does anyone think I need to put her countdown posts on there too?

Enjoy!

she'll still be counting down in a month's time, when it'll probably start snowing after everyone's gone home to prepare for the cricket season.

You could try announcing the changes more loudly when you've made them, not everyone is noticing. Also a small fanfare of strumpets when you update the logo.
Now you've made me blush, Ed ... x
Looking forward to the Winter Olympics Ed. We could do with Jogger Jayne over there in Vancouver and Whistler as AnswerBanks' Foreign Correspondent.
She might even end up on Sky News ! lol
Regarding the Site itself, it certainly seems more stable now than it was a few months back.
Any Avatars on the Horizon yet ?
Wish you'd stop describing him as "The late Ed", it's quite disturbing.

I'm happyish with how the site is at the moment, the only complaint (and its more of a whinge really) is how my removed post count has suddenly shot up lately, and I've been a good Boo too (ish).

Is there anyway that when a post is removed with our replies on it that our own post count doesn't alter? You see despite our answers usually being within the Site Rules, when a thread's removed, it somehow becomes a black mark against us too and I don't think that's right.
I agree with BOO on that one. When we use to have an answer removed we could still view that answer in out profiles. I think we should be able to do that again. At least then we know or have some idea of what we've done wrong.

I still think the 'Ed's' are bit trigger happy still...
The site in my opinion has certainly improved but when oh when are we going to be able to use our own avatars as PROMISED many many months ago ??

They're very shy Redman, that is why they're standing all the way over there.

I suppose we could make some noise Jno. A fair point. Recently it has been a lot of "back end" stuff - so it might not be very exciting to you all.

Would any of you mind doing a survey in the future? Just the usual stuff: How old you are, wage bracket, number of children, marital status etc. We want to know what kind of people we've got on the site with some decent numbers backing them. We "know" you - but we don't really know how to explain what we know about you!

JJ - I wouldn't worry about it. We were thinking about doing a few pieces on the Winter Olympics - but it seems you do it with much more class than we ever could!

All the best

I fail to see what time I post replies has anything to do with you no know?
Lol...I don't think that was aimed at you BOO :-)
Ahhh, then apologies no know.

Hi B00, sorry, got distracted - it is a lovely day outside.

Your post removed count probably went up because you posted on several "troll questions."

NoK. I think the amount of venom in the post you are talking about was sufficient for its removal. I suggest you stop trying to bully other users. You're a nice, if grumpy, chap when you've not got a vendetta.

Thanks Ed for replying, beginning to think I needed to change my deoderant!

I realise why my post count has increased, but I'm asking is there anyway that they don't?

I can't see why we're penalised for giving none offensive replies on posts by "trolls" (God, I REALLY hate that over-used word!), especially when sometimes we're unaware it is a troll (grrr!) until they're removed.

As it stands i have 170 replies removed, and whilst i admit some of them may be a iffy, the vast majority aren't.
