Since this new Answerbank format has been introduced, through constant scrolling I have managed to make my scrolling finger sore and now the scrolling wheel on my mouse has packed-up due to excessive use.

There's your answer then OG - Ed has shares in Logitech or some other mouse-manufacturing company.
A pain isn't it!

Someone mentioned, the other day, that it doesn't half run the Battery down..agree!
Have you been injured through no fault of your own?

Then wait for a dubious law firms advertisement to pop-up on Answerbank and see if you could claim compensation.

Just discovered a way round it, press down on the scrolling wheel and it will scroll down automatically.
Have you reduced the size of the page to 80% (as most desktop users here have), AOG?

(Press Ctrl and - together twice).
Adding to Buenchico's answer you can also alter mouse 'scroll' settings in Windows.

Thank you Buenchico

But that will not fix my scrolling wheel so I have still got to buy a new mouse.
Thanks AOG - I knew about that but don't like it.

Will that make my scroll wheel work once again?

If so how do I go about that task?
You can also use the up and down arrows on your keyboard to scroll.
Unfortunately no, but will make your next one last longer. In the meantime your finger should recover, eventually ;)
AOG, did you have your scroll wheel ratchet on?
Scrolling saves puppies
Don't forget the 'home' and 'end' keys which will whizz the page to the top or bottom
You might like this browser add on - it scrolls to top and bottom

AOG - have you tried whacking your mouse against the desk? It may work and then it may not work.
If the the subscribe/unsubscribe button was at the bottom, we wouldn't have to scroll up or down so much.
That button is at the top on a desktop, trt. What device are you using?
Sorry, trt, misread your post
