...like I have done a couple of times over the years, that when you have a post in a subscribed thread, and you want to add to it, it should go to the last post/poster.

This would stop you having to find which page the last post was, especially if its a long drawn out discussion, like some have been lately.

Another suggestion if I may, would to have the name of the new latest poster, in the box to the right of the Topic, so A/Bers know who is asking or making a comment.

Thanks.

I would respectfully suggest it would be on the last page, we already have the option to click on 'Last' (page) when going to a long thread then it's only a simple scroll to read the last one.

Sorry, should have meant, the last post you posted.
Sites are rated by the number of page hits they achieve. This can also affect advertising fees.
So there is no insentive to send you directly to the last post.

Of course it should, I should have known!

Clicking on 'Last' takes you to straight the end of the thread.
Sorry, didn't see the other posts when I posted.

Thats my point Naomi, I am suggesting it goes to the last post/reply from your post!!!!
I think I can understand what you are saying trt.

Please correct me if I am wrong. In a 'Subscribed' thread' you would like to be directed back to your last answer in the thread because a lot of other replies may have come forward after your posting and, for you to know what has happened, a search is needed on your part to locate the position in which you were, prior to the thread having developed further.

Hans.
I am not sure the idea of having " the name of the new latest poster, in the box to the right of the Topic, so A/Bers know who is asking or making a comment" would be a good idea. Some posters seems to follow others around, particularly on News, often to make a dig at a user they have taken a dislike to.

The reason for it Fiction, was the opposite of what you have said, and that knowing the name of the poster, you could ignore it if you dont like them, or their politics etc.
