I haven't been on this site for quite a while but coming on to it tonight I have had the frustration of advertisements jumping up and blocking the screen. Is this normal now?

Thanks

No, it's not.

The only ads you should be seeing (if you're not using an *** [removed the naughty bit :-)] anyway) are those embedded within the page. There are no pop-ups used by AB.

If you're seeing pop-ups here you've got malware on your computer. Download, install and run the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to get rid of it:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/
(NB: When installing it, take care to deselect the pre-ticked option offering you a free trial of the Premium version).
thank you Chris for your prompt and helpful answer, apart from the naughty bit :-)

I hope shivvy comes back to let us know how she got on :-)

Thanks for the advice.

How has Buenchico been naughty? What have I missed?!

An ad for Skoda next to best answer expanded and popped up just by moving the mouse over it. The rest of the screen went dark grey.
tara20: Some adverts do but not many of them. Non of them will activate without making a move first though.
Doesn't make it less irritating :-)
Nope, but you only have 2 choices: Live with it or don't. :D

Lol Dizmo You could also have said " leesen very carefully I jall say zis only once!"

Tara - that is what happened to me. It is a pesky ad for a ford mondeo beside the best answer that decides to come to life if I dare to hover over it for too long! I had thought that it was a pop up ad.
