Hi Ed, not sure if this is how to contact you - or even if you can do anything about this, but today I have been barely able to look at the replies to AB posts due to several flashing ads on the screen. Normally I can ignore ads but these are flashing so fast they are enough to drive you away from AB. They are mostly computer ads for slow PC or print drivers and media player. I have used CCleaner but it's made no difference at all. Can you suggest anything I can try to get rid of them please? Thanks, will be much appreciated. Ann

I am using Windows XP and Firefox.
I suspect the ads, which appear at random via something called ad-bots, pay for the site to exist. The ad-bots pick at things in the cookies and flash up ads that it thinks will appeal to you eg I looked at an ice hockey website earlier, I now have an ad for NHL live flashing at me. (NHL is the major pro league in North America)... hope that helps

Thanks Slapshot - any idea how to stop the pesky things please?
Unless the site owners switch them off then I'm afraid not Ann, as I say the advertising modules pay for the site and keep it free for us. On one of my sites the ad bots are off but it costs us £40 per year based on site traffic, it's pretty small feed but a place like this I suspect could be quite lucrative
