Removed Dating Ads from AB & Category Introductions

Good afternoon,

I've made a small change to our advertising on the site, mainly after seeing a really really bad dating advert for "date single mom's"

So we're not going to have dating ads (unless if really badly affects the cash-flow).

There has also been some complaints about an advert which is making noise. If you see if could you identify the company or the web address the advert goes to please and let me know. I've yet to see it so removing it is an issue.

In other, slightly related news, we will be rolling out the new ad format for category pages (i.e. http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Motoring/ with less owl) this gives us the opportunity to put some category description/helpful hints in. I wondered if anyone would like to offer some ideas for what they'd really like to see in the category description.

Before we begin though, I think we've got Q&P covered :)

B00... do you use AdblockPlus? I think it's all 'clumped up' to the left as the right hand side has an advert which shows as a white blank space if you use an ad blocker.

For some reason TinyPic is throwing a thromby and won't let me upload a pic of my screenshot, but I think snaggles is right, ive got and ad blocker and that's what it appears to be doing.

Hi Ed..... If knocking out offensive ads should affect cash flow, please let me know and I'll try to persuade other ABers to join me in a collection; along with a fiver from me.

In the meantime, try to do something about the flashing adverts to which your attention has been drawn. :-
